Every year, the Moderator of The General Assembly hosts a Moderator’s challenge. This year the Right Rev Shaw Patterson’s challenge is called ‘Let Your Little Light Shine’. Dr Patterson hopes to raise funds to provide ‘light libraries’ in schools and colleges in Malawi. This would involve purchasing small solar lights that children and students can then borrow from the library to take home, allowing them to study in their homes after dark as they have no electricity, which greatly affects their learning. It would be good to support this venture so we have placed donation boxes at each door of the church for anyone wishing to support the appeal.
